Unhappy Lightning didn't turn on today...

Today when I went outside to turn on the truck I just didn't start. It wanted to start but it just didn't.
One thing I did notice was that every time I turned the key to the on position the whole gauge panel would move all the way to the other end.
Example: The speedometer would go from 0 too 140, The RPM's Would go all the way to 6000.
The truck is all stock. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

My $.02, it sounds like a short of some sort if all the gauges go to their max. But I have never had that happen so someone else will have to comment a little more in depth.
Good Luck!

When you turn the key to run, does the theft light come on and stay solid, or does it flash? If it flashes, then you most likely have a PATS problem because that means the computer does not recognize the key code.

I tried it and the theft light stayed on for about 3-4 seconds and it turned off.
Also the speedometer didn't do what it was doing earlier.
The truck didn't turn on.

No I'm pretty sure my guages didn't do that.
I would have probably noticed it before.

I had a Lariat Supercab do that and it was the battery. Does it turn over? If not disconnect the battery for a few minutes and try again. MAKE SURE THE KEYS ARE IN YOUR POCKET NOT THE IGNITION. or your problems will really begin.

Hope this Helps Pat/ bluelightning

Ok,

Just talked to Freedom Ford Do you have Lights and are they at full power?, Does the interior light work? Does your Theft light flash rapidly? Try your other key sometimes the key will lose its program, Did you have a automatic starter put on recently? If all else fails call 1-800-463-3612 as for Norm in service or if norm is gone ask for Clairance if the toll free doesn' t work from your area call 1-780-462-7575
