How do you refill the converter ? or dose it do it on it's own when you start the truck. Just wondering.

The converter will fill on its own as you fill through the tranny fill tube/ dipstick, and......., I would add approx 10-11 qts. (if you drain converter) then start vehicle w/drive wheels off the ground and shift through the gears slowly, (foot on brake) and add as needed.

Even if you have a dust cover, it doesn't mean you have a drain plug. Teh tranny build date is on the ID tag, the line that begins BD , first number is year, second one is month, A for Jan, B for Feb, Etc..., last two are day of month.

Last day for drain plugs was 8-11-2001.
