IC Fans

Great set up. Is there any way to have the fans work off a thermostat instead of a manual switch. Does anybody know if the intercooler is operated by a thermostat or is it on all the time? Or would it be simpler to have the fans on all the time since the power draw is quite low?

No the IC pump is not on all the time. You could tap the power line off the fans into the power line going into the pump (white wire). This will turn the fans on/off when the pump goes on/off. I wanted to be able to turn mine on/off whenever I want so I could run them in the pits without the truck running when it was cooling off.

THanks Joe,
Currently, I only have a 2lb pulley. There is no doubt that with a 6 pounder allot of heat is produced. Would it make any difference with a 2 pounder?

Is there any other benefit from using these fans other than cooling down at the track? If you were to leave them running while driving would you be able to see a decrease in operating temps?

Mine are tied into the pump and on a switch.

In my opinion anything that makes the truck run a little cooler and more efficient can not be a bad thing.

What about running 3 of the 6.5" fans on the JDM Heat exchanger? I'm upping my lower 6 with an upper 2 so this is really important for me to have with the stop adn go traffic and the heat down here in Florida.
