Well we lost our yearly bonus and raises were put on hold until 'business conditions' permit. So I'm just gonna be good and ask for one of the 2 back.

But I still want this blower

Hey I'm Shane, That blower does look nice. I am writing in concern for a friend of mine that is on a list to get the KB blower. He has a 2000 just like mine with Bassani exhaust and shorty headers, and a 3:73 rear end and a diablo chip . He ran a 13.2 i think was one of his best times. Very respectable in my eyes. Anyway he is getting the blower and planning on running a 3-4 pound pulley (like i have) on the street and some kind of 8-10 pounder for the track. He's getting another chip from Jim Bell and i am just wondering if he runs at the track once a month, and makes a few passes on the stock internaly motor, will it be alright? Also he is on a waiting list from Jim Bell and we were wondering if any have been sold, and if so, when he sould be getting his...
thanks shane

I was over at Swanson Performance the other day and he had a few lying around. He said that they were already sold. But what he did say is that he has no problem getting them for any that want one. Basically what I am saying is that there is no long waiting list.

Maybe you should give Jim bell a call and get the facts 1st! Before you make it look like Swanson can sell these blowers too outside his shop. Now if you want to go to his shop and have him install the KB Thats true you can purchase it from him then. but thats all. Like i said call Jim Bell and discuss this with him... Yes their is a Long List Trust me.But its getting smaller and smaller everyday now.... JL

Johnny, does that mean the blowers have to be installed at a shop or modified to work with the Lightning? Or that you are the only authorized distributer of the blower through mail order?

Also KB website says they will be good to 22 lbs boost. Is that all or are they capable of more?

if you want more than that , just add a t trim vortech on top of what you have already

then you can get yourself 30+, will that be enough, lol

You can go well over 22psi with the KB, you may want to start off lower and gradually move up from there.

Easterisland: Yes JLP & KB themselves will be the *only* mail order distributors of the KB's. I have been hearing so many rumors how this guy and that guy is going to sell them too. Even heard thru some friends that someone i thought was a friend was going to be selling them for less than me! This simply isn't true. Jim Bell might be making a post about this issue.Like i stated this is a *Direct* bolt on! the ONLY thing that should be done is to grind the edge of the intercooler bracket that bolts on the side of the blower. since the KB's casing is a bit wider than the stock eaton it makes the bracket a little tight to bolt on. but no big deal at all! Thats it! everything else is a piece of cake! changing plugs, coilpacks ect. is exactly the same as stock! from the testing We have been doing i believe this new unit might be capable of around 28-30# boost! I made 26# with 1 more smaller size pulley to go.this should bring it to around 28# on my setup. on a setup with stock heads that should be around 30+#!! JL

Hey Easter,

I remember when JL had a little trouble at E-Town with the gasket between the KB and intake. He took the blower off in about 15 minutes, sealed the leaking spot and re-installed it in about the same time. Then went back out on the track and ran a low 11 sec pass.
