Got killed by an SS

Today on the way home from the galleria in houston, i was next to a white SS. When the light turned to get onto the on ramp to 59, we were next to each other, and we both punched it, and he got a good 5 car lengths on me from about 10-95. I had 3 people in my truck, and he was by himself, but im sure that barely even matters. SS's are mean

Even if you are stock, he shouldn't have beaten you that badly...he either had some mods, or squirted it....

I dont see how a stock if it was ss could pull you that much unless you were in a 99-00?I beat a ram-air trans-am when my truck was still stock.

Should've done the old "Lightning Strike" move that I read about here. You downshift into 3rd or something, punch it, then shift back into "D" and they'll be toast.

I can't rememer who posted it, but it was posted.

What your referring to is when your cruising around 55-60 mph and you punch it, the truck downshifts to second and BAM you better hold on.

I'm guessing that SS was not stock...

I have a 2001 SS in addition to my Lightning - all I've done is intake and exhaust - and it runs about pretty close to a 13.00 flat...my L will run pretty dang close to it these days from a roll (but she's not stock though either).

In any event, if it was really 5 car lengths he wasn't stock...

And on another note, if you actually owned a lighting you would know that is isn't like any other automatic.

Ive ran several SS's and have only lost to one. He had a head/cam package,LT's,3:73's, and a 150 shot. He runs 12.0's on motor and 10.82 on the squeeze! Of two runs he had me half a car to about 110, but when he sprayed me............it got really ugly! If they have a head/cam package, its gonna be a close race for me, with the SS walking me on the top end. If he's stock are mildly modded, he's gonna get owned!
stock to stock, the SS will usually win(though not by much) esp. if its '01 or newer.
I love pulling up next to Vette and SS owners and seeing that "Oh ****" look on their face.
