400/500 Club!

I went for my first dyno tune yesterday. 99' with 38,000 miles. Flip chip, Pro-M, 6 lber, TR6's (it is WARM in California). Safe street side. Actual at the wheels, 75-80 degrees outside. 7th pull. Tuning on the dyno is the chit. Danny Swanson is the man! Running at Irwindale tonight to see what it will do!!

400.9 hp 527.9 ft lb

Great #'s, that 6 pounder sure helps that torque! I have some #s from the same dyno that are pretty close.

Please post your track times tonight, I'm dying to see.

I'll post them. I'm just worried about hooking up. It'll take some practice and adjustments from my previous techniques. I hit 8.5's before the 6# and dyno tune with like a best 1.98 60' on the street side (pretty poor). I need to get around to getting some race gas to really play.
Vinnie,
I thought SAE#'s just brought correction factors into play (elevation, etc). If not, then I don't understand what they are/mean, and I don't have any. The dyno is at like 50' elevation.
Can you elaborate?

Your right correction factors are involved with SAE numbers. You want to know the SAE numbers so you can compare your dyno results with someone elses results in like Maine. Obviously you will have different temp's, barometer, altitude, humidity etc. SAE numbers set standards for all those parameters so the only comparisons is between the trucks and not the other crap.

I would take Joe's comments a step forward and say that it (SAE correction factors) allows you to compare between dyno runs on the same dyno.

It is well known that you can get significantly different results using different dynos. Find a dyno and stick with it.

Ya, I got the same format on my printout. I just didn't bother to look at the axis labels. So I guess they are SAE numbers. I8ACAMRO- what are your mods?
Just curious on the extra hp and lower torque over my run.

Good numbers both of you. Guess I'll have to check Danny out next time I'm in town.

Well, that makes sense. You got the hp from the air kit and tb that I don't have. I got the torque from the 6#'r. What year is your truck?
