Wow, Art: 73 and the proud owner of a new shadow gray Lightning! Nice to know there's still testosterone flowing in us old coots, huh? Very cool to be 73 and still wanna get out and put the pedal to the metal. Nice to see you didn't settle for some ol' Buick 4 door sedan.
Me? I'm 54, but when I'm in the "L" I'm 17 again!
Keep on truckin'!

43---but every time I get in the truck, I''m a juvenile deliquent again!
PS: In high school I drove a 71 Chevelle w/ 402 big block. The summer after high school I installed: Holley 750 double pumper, Weiand tunnel ram (no hood!), L-88 cam, Hooker headers, Cherry Bomb mufflers, removed interior except for front seats..........THE L IS THE MOST FUN I"VE HAD SINCE!!!!! I still miss the big cam sound more than anything.

You "old school" guys had some nice rides...here are a few of mine, even though i was 22 before i bought my first "muscle car" and they were already "classics"
68 Firebird
69 Firebird with built 400 that would bury the speedo over 170 when it still had the stock gears, even with four passengers.
70 Camaro with a warmed 350 and shift kit.
73 Challenger..this was a 318 stocker and really doesn't count
67 Camaro with a 350 and a shift kit...had this one up until i bought the L.

My old fart past rides when I was a pup:
1967 Chevy Stepside 3 speed on the tree 283. I learned to drive in this old standard delivery truck when I was 13.
1959 Buick Electra (My all-time favorite) Dubbed the Batmobile in high school, very hard to keep up with on top speed with the 401 Nailhead v8. It had the big red speedo arrow that filled in across the dash and electric everything. Comfortably sat 6-8 teenagers. Did not even have to get in back seat with your girlfriend, the front was as big as a sofa!
1970 350 Camaro, went 155,000 miles in that one.

Like BLACK BOLT 01, next b.d. will be 66. Are there any other geriatrics besides me actively auto-xing their trucks?
