Fog Lite bulb change

I see that alot of people are changing there fog light bulbs to 9007's. Will this work on a 2000 L? I have hyperwhites h/l bulbs and Id like to match the look.

Foglights should take you all of 2 minutes to change.......that is including beer time. Foglights are like a 15 minute job. Just pull up on the lock tabs under the hood and the entire front lens assembly comes right out. Carefully pull it forward to unplug the wire harness for the headlamp then just remove the bulb and replace

Just ordered Coldie's setup for me L along with a V1 radar detector. Coldie, did you order your things off of the websites? and if so how long did it take, I got a confirmation but no tracking numbers, I ordered after 12 so that might be the problem.. also from sylvania email it seemed like they could be backordered? Did you experience this if you ordered from their website?

Ship times...

I ordered the sylvania kit before it was available, so I waited for it. Not sure how backordered they are.

HID kits never sent me anything except the package. Never a track number or anything.

Both companies were great on the phone and answered all my questions (so I ordered from them).

Check out my gallery for install tips, or just e-mail me and I can walk you through any part of it. It was pretty easy all around...

And I love them

Nothing like it being broad daylight in front of your truck!

PhillipSVT,

Where did you get Silverstars for $20.00 a pair. The cheapest I have seen them is about $40.00 a pair.

Thanks,
Allan

Lights

I did allot of research on this. HID conversion don't work because the optics of the stock lens aren't made for it. High powered bulbs are OK but it doesn't change the fact that the stock bulbs are of poor quality from a lightning standpoint. I just bought the Sylvania HID kit and its fantastic. The 2000 Lightning uses H3 bulbs for the fogs. Even if the 2000 lens are glass the 9007 aren't recommended. Silverstar are introducing H3 bulbs next month and PIAA already have some good ones.

Your HID fogs look great. How much did the kit cost you and where did you get them?

Another member on this site had them in for a month or two, but wanted something different, so I met him and swaped out the bulbs.

Its 9005's that go into the fog lights on 01/02's. You will be fine with em.

99/00 use the H3 fog bulb. Youre basically screwed except for some over priced PIAA bulbs.
