6lb pulley questions

I have to use my L for daily driving duties and will most likely will have to drive it in the winter. I was worried about problems with running a 6lb pulley and chip on regular octane gas all year round, including winter. what would I have to worry about or would it be best to downgrade to a lower sized pulley? thanks for oyur help

WOW! No other mods to the insides?

That's impressive! Has your truck had the PSP chip in all the time?

6lb year round and crappy 91-92 octane winter fuel. No problem. Remember it will only make 6lb at WOT.

I've always run a 4# but i'm going to a 6,the only time I ever heard a knock was when I gave it gas,in the winter on the highway, ran home filled it and put in 104 octane booster and it was fine.It did this with my 00 and 01 ,must be that winter formula gas, never had any problems other than those 2 times

I have a 6# pulley, Chip and Denso IT 22's on my truck and it is a daily driver and I drive it in the winter. You cant floor it in the winter because it will detonate. What I do is take out the chip in the winter so I will never be tempted to give the truck more then 1/2 throttle. And I always use 94 octane.
PS, My chip and Pulley are from JLP.

Motor is all stock....

I ran a JL chip for the first 5000 miles of my truck with a 3lber, then a JL chip for the next 3000 with a 6lber, from then on I have had a PSP Chip with a 6lber (Over 21K).

I run 93 or 100 oct gas only....

And yes over 1000 passes in more than 5 states.... LOL

Sometimes I run Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun in the summer.

Do you up the octane a bit when you run it at the track or do you just get it when it is really hot or really cold? They sell 104 at the track and I have often wondered if I should put a couple of gallons or so in to bring the octane up just a tad -- just to be sure...

Thanks

Ken
