1/2" drive breaker bar should be the only tool for a S/C belt

Only if you are replacing the lower pulley, to lock the torque converter so the engine doesn't turn. Also a 14mm allen socket to remove the stock pulley.

There is a Serpentine belt tool available at Sears, etc. but all you need is a 1/2" breaker-bar. Look at the front of the idler pulley(to your left as you stand in front on the eng.) and you will see a square-shaped indentation. That's where the breaker-bar 'stub' is inserted and then you pull/move the bar to your left to relieve the pressure from the belt. Slide the belt off of the s/c pulley, release the bar and remove the belt, up and over the fan.

I don't understand how they could have any difficulty with the supercharger belt?

the the accessory belt is another story if you have the stock caged pulley, it does have to be removed though. there is a special ford tool for to hold the flywheel for this repair. I have only seen a picture of it though I don't even know if our shop has one. I just use one from the stack of aftermarket blower pulley tools I have laying around.

later,
chris
