Transmission fluid change?

I wonder if I should "flush" that nasty Amsoil out of my tranny?
Whats the $100 for fluid, if its going to cost much more later on

i dont know, amsoil is the same as redline they say, and alot of guys on here are running redline.

Mine shifts like snot on a knife. But the man that perhaps forgot more about trans, than I will know, doesn't like it. Not sure if its the product or the selling methods though

well the way i see it, is that it replaces either mercon or mercon V, so if you use all amsoil (as one product) and not mix with anything than it should be good to go.

Getting ready to install one of Gregg's valve bodies and a new 4x4 pan. Any problem with adding the Mobil 1 synthetic with the old factory Motorcraft Mercon? I assume when you do this install you're only draining about a third of the fluid.

just go for broke, drain out that fluid, then pull the plug on the converter to get the rest out, then in mine it took 14qts to fill it all the way up. that way you totally replaced all the old fluid and replaced with the new
