Angry Wtf

I just took my chip out<~~~~~~~~NOTICE (OUT) of my truck and now the SOB wont start. Theft light is going crazy and all. The truck was working fine before and now its not working at all. I even tried to put the chip back in and it still wont work. I had the battery unplugged and the keys were in my pocket. So I really have no clue.

i think when you disconnect the battery it trips the alarm when you plug it back up, therefore with a tripped alarm it probably disabled the starter...not sure just a thought

Try locking and unlocking the doors with your little box. Also you may want to look at the fuel pump reset button. It on the passenger side up under the dash near the the computer. It is closer to the door then the firewall. Maybe you hit it when you took out the computer>??? Goodluck and let us know how you make out. -Mat-

not likely, but try reseting your gas cut off switch. its in the right kick panel next to the pcm.

Had the same problem once and had my L towed to the dealer they replaced the key reader in the ignition switch. The truck would turn over fine but would not start.

I have heard of other things posted about this issue about a month or so back. Not sure if this helps but it's what was wrong with mine.

Peace, Suavy

My first question is did you unhook the - battery terminal before removing the chip, you would be surprised how how important that actually is.

If your theft light if flashing that means the HEC no longer recognizes the key, which means dealer visit, there is no fix otherwise....

I hate to tell you but ive seen 3 lightnings and one focus in the last 2 years that did that when a chip was pulled and they all had to have a new PCM. Its like a static discharge or something kills the VID block.

Thanks for the help guys I actually had this happen to me once before. It was when I was installing the chip that time (the chip had a bad program on it) This time I did everything to the books (just trying to be safe) and it still Fd up. I figured I would have to take it to the dealer to get it fixed but wasnt sure. OH WELL. Just something else to fix along with the burnt valve. Hell its only money right. Guess my truck didnt want me to have any at all.
