I have just purchased a 1999 Lightning and every item that was
not nailed down was disposed of by the previous owner including the owner's manual and extra keys.
I have a question for 1999 owner's: was the owner's manual
cover in 1999 the standard slate grey vinyl or was it the black
fabric and did the cover have SVT or anything else printed on
it. Thanks for the help.

 

Mine was a generic F-series manual for the F150. It was in a navy cover with the ford emblem embossed on the front. The only lightning-specific info was a one-page color insert containing some performance specs. I purchased mine in June of 99

 

I also have a '99 and my blue vinal, zippered, owner's guide cover has "SVT" embossed on the front in addition to "Ford". The basic Owner's Guide is for the standard F-150/250; the Warranty Guide is for all Ford & Mercury cars & Light Turcks; and the Scheduled Maintenance Guide is for all FoMoCo vehicles. In addition to these three guides there is, of course, the 15-page F-150 SVT Lightning Owner's Guide Supplement. So, that's a total of four guides inside the blue cover.

It might have been when trading or selling his 99 at the dealership, they tried to rape him, so he took everything off the truck he could. I know it sucks, because it really only hurts the next owner.

But to your question, all I got was the generic F-150 Owners Manual and a 15 page SVT F-150 Lightning Owners Guide Supplement. Try calling SVT @ 1-800-FORD-SVT and see if they will help you out
