Like you, mine hasn't spit YET, but the whole Lightning community needs to be concerned since it's only a matter of time for most of us. I look at it like this, we all got the Ford cancer, some are gonna die, some won't, BUT WE ALL GOT THE CANCER.

The trick here is to SOMEHOW find a way to get a list of exactly how many Lightning's or 5.4's for that matter have Spit.
Do we have any good hackers here ???? Come on someone has to be able to access Ford's computers or records ???
Maybe it's public info, it should be, is there a way to find out how many wrrnty claims have been made for a particular Brand and Model ?
here's a little bit of info, got this off of a thread I started to Bill Ford:

"Well I work for Ford warranty and I can tell you it is a problem. Vehicles under base warranty with SP blowing out of head for the month of Dec. 02 437 Jan. 03 282 at one point last june we hit 900 cliams for the month.
After 36,000 miles the numbers drop but are still a problem. The lightning has been the vehicle I see most often but regular F-150's have had it happen too. Expedition as well."

That's a lot of damn issues....think of how many didn't even report it since they are out of warranty etc.

prob not with Ford vs non-Ford plug - it's related to FOUR threads holding plug into head.

You guys are not searching the forum right... This is not a lightning problem.... it is a ford engine problem. search in the f150online>engines .... there are plenty of long threads about this problem. It appears that ford "HAS" done something about this, for it's new 2003 customers. here is a link to the thread about the new head with more spark plug threads.
about new head with more spark plug threads

I think I read that thread, I believe it was a 14 year old fooling around . I don't think there is a real failure of 2003"s blowing plugs yet.

I just registered my complaint. My truck has been at the dealer with the blown plug since 1/28/03. the dealer has been trying to get me the 8 thread head with no luck. Does anyone know who I can contact at Ford so I can get one of the new and improved heads?? Thanks.
