I just turned 21 last week, I go to school full time(actually part time this semester cause I couldn't get into the classes i needed) and when I'm not in school I am working. My father co-signed the loan for me so the rate isn't half bad. I put a big down payment on the truck too. I keep telling myself I'm going to start making double payments but its a hard choice between double payment and long tube headers... . anyways for you guys still trying to get a lightning keep trying, If you want something bad enough nothing will stop you from getting it.

Happy birthday bro. Trust me, the fun has just begun, things are so much more fun in your 20's than they were in your teens (i'm 23 so I'm still enjoying it).

And for those haters out there, just because someone is young doesnt mean that mommy and daddy pay for everything. Theres quite a few of us that went out and got a good job, bought our own place and have an L, all paid for with our own hard earned (legal) money.

 

Happy birthday bud. I am 18 and own a silver 01 L that i will admit that my parents bought me. I was rearended in an accident and my parents used the money we got from that to get the L. It had been THE vehicle i wanted for the past 2 years. I am a senior in high school, making good grades, working 30 hours/week, going to a good college next year, and stay out of trouble always. If my dad sees that as a reason to reward me with the truck, whats wrong with that? I pay for gas and mods which isnt much considerin the price of the truck, but i realize that and am greatly appreciative towards my dad and he knows it. Besides, he loves fast cars too.

 

I have to admit, I did not pay for my L.

This may arouse some discontention, but I do believe there is nothing wrong with being given something.

If I worked hard and earned it, then my L would be much more deserved than my parents paying for it. Sometimes I beleive that I do no deserve it (righty so), but I doubt any 19 yr old could turn down the keys to their favourite dream vehicle of all time.

I promised to stay out of trouble with the L and so far everything is going great.

To those of you that have worked hard for your L, I take my hat off and I do admire your ability to achieve goals, and it is much more noble to have earned it than to have been handed it.

 

Parents gave me my L when I was 16. And they pay my insurance. BUT I pay my own gas.

 

I'm 20 and bought my 02 L when I was 18, I work full time and go to college at night. I still live with the parental units but I pay for my truck by myself and still have enough to mod it

This topic had to be brought up, Didn' t it?. I bought my first Lightning in 02 and eversince then every birthday from now until my days are over will bother me. I' AM 27 IN 29 DAYS. I' AM A OLD CRONIE. Most of you guys are in your late teens to mid 20' s. It is like RTKilla said " The fun is just beginning". I hope he is right, I drink scotch .

i allready talked to him about them a few days ago, they are nice, but i was just alittle taken back on what he wants for them..... im still thinking about it though.

Update: my gifts from everyone were: Craftsman work light, Craftsman 5 Drawer tool chest/work station, and some $$$ for the 20's.

 

Sounds like you're on your way to being able to do bigger better mods and some bling as well!

 

Happy Birthday dude! I hit 20 a little over 2 years ago and ever since have wished I was 18 again...didnt have a L but, those were some good times...so just enjoy it while it lasts whatever age you are

 

WHOA, lets make it 667 that is a more friendly number, I need good luck not bad. Now I' am going to go wheel under a ladder to the smoking area, wheel back to my room and look in the mirror and hopefully it won't bust. .
