One other thing ... When you're working on the rear, remember
to block/chock the front wheels for safety sake ...

Be safe, Lightning brothers!!!

PS ... It would be nice if we had a really nice place to put all
these pictures so we don't end up with a thread years from now
that shows these irritating life threating boxes like this ...

yea cliff Change the URL to www.svtparts.com/brandon/

be possible to add these step by step hosted somewhere so someone could print the webpage perhaps? That would be something great....perhaps they could add it to the "HOWTO" on the frontpage here, or at least link it?

Either way, great work you two

Sure, you guys post all of the great pics after I install mine. Just my luck. Anyways, the pics are great and accurate.

For those of you Nay Sayers out there questioning the infamous Roush Racing suspension setup for the L, let me say that I can't hardly keep my wife out of mine now. Nowhere was that mentioned.

The ride is awesome, and since SVT is listening, this is exactly how the SVT should come from the factory. If you want to add more payload, swap in some air shocks. Also add a larger diameter anti-sway bars

Roush states that the shocks are valved specifically to their springs. However, I’m not sure about the shaft lengths, but as I recall the overall length was the same. The reason behind me getting the extenders was that I felt that there was little travel left in the rear shocks. In fact, I went and tested the L at my favorite proving grounds with nice dips, a shift in road height, and a good old railroad crossing. When I would accelerate to 65-70 mph or so and go over the "shift in road height section", I used to get the old thump sound in the rear of the truck. This would upset the rear of the truck (almost felt like it would bottom out) With the extenders I don't get the thump sound as I did before and the truck remains settled as I go over the same section of road. By no means am I a suspension specialist, but my theory is that the shock extender not only provided more piston travel, but also up righted the shock to make it more effective (i.e., 45 deg to 50 deg shock angle). BTW, I found this solution at the roush forum over at ford truck world. Those guys seem to be having similar issues with the rear shocks as well. Overall, the roush was the perfect setup for me. I need to save to get those QA-1s!

Eric @ Roush told me he thought the alignment specs were in the kit. What did you use for specs? I'm going to call Eric and get the Roush spec.

The kit comes with ZERO documentation. Spike posted the specs for us awhile back.

Is it me, or does the rear look like it's lower than the front?

Looks lower to me, too. I think Bell Tech and DJM have a shorter shackle that will raise the rear just a little bit to give you a better stance.
