Just Installed JDM Silver Bullet, High-Flow Cats and JLP Traction Bars (pics)!

I just finished installing my JDM Silver Bullet Cat-Back, custom mid-pipes with Magnaflow high-flow cats and JLP traction bars.

I must say that I could not be happier with my new exhaust. I love loud exhaust but this thing is right on the edge of being almost too loud if there is such a thing. It simply screams. I love the big block sound. I started it with the factory cats and it was awesome sounding but after installing the Magnaflow high-flow cats it came alive. The factory cats must really restrict the exhaust flow because you really could tell a difference after the high-flows were installed. It sounds like it's going to eat the road up. Thanks Jim!

The JLP traction bars are top notch in fit and finish. The install was straight forward and everything fit perfectly. Word of caution though with the JLP bars, if your truck is lowered 4 inches in the back like mine is the front bracket is only 4 inches off the ground. Which means it will be real easy to drag the front bracket if you drive on any real uneven roads. I knew this before I ordered them but I wanted a traction device that I didn't have to adjust when I go to the track plus they came powder coated to match my truck so I decided to go with the JLP bars anyways.

The only thing I have left to do now is get my 4.10's installed!

How did you make the custom midpipes and cats? Did you order the cats and had the exhaust shop make the pipes?

BTW, I think a shock is missing in the last pic.

Hank

It looks awesome, I know you will love the exhaust and the traction bars.

I am going to have to kick JL's butt. 2 years ago when I powdercoated my traction bars mine were unique, but now they are like all the rest. I may have to do something real custom to my traction bars this year.

Lightning838- I purchased a set of High-Flow cats from Magnaflow($140), 2 mandrel bent 90 degree bends ($30) and $50 labor. I ended up with the same cat pipes as the Bassani cat pipe which retails for $550 but it only cost me a total of $220.00 to do this. I like saving money!!

Tallimeca- I thought about purchasing the full exhaust system but I couldn't justify spending $1,700 for maybe 10-15 rwhp. I have a total of $650.00 in my total exhaust system which sounds and performs awesome. Plus I think the restriciton in the factory exhaust system is not in the factory manifolds but rather the 4 factory cats. I was just not willing to spend another $1,000 for maybe just maybe 10 extra hp. If I want another 10 hp I will just change my nitrous jets!!!

Trashguy- The Edelbrock shocks work excellent. I am running Hotchkis rear leafs and they were too much for the factory shocks. The Edelbrock shocks made the ride much more balanced. With the factory shocks if I hit any type of bump in the road it felt like my back tires would bounce up off the road. With the Edelbrock shocks the tires stay planted on the road.

Thanks for posting the JL bars. I ordered a set for mine and was wondering how well it was going to work on a lowered truck. I also noticed the Edlebrock shocks, do you use them in the front also? I went with Dostechs. They control body roll real well, but aren't the smoothest shock if you know what I mean. How did the trcation bars work with your lowered truck, improved traction?
Thanks Mike
