hmmm

There was some issues with the "old" style caged pulley from JDM, and Jim will tell you that himself.

Working with two trucks in the driveway, i've had the new style off and on with no problems. I had more trouble getting my stocker off, at the time, both trucks had under 10k miles.

***NOTE*** Be sure to cover the threads 100% with neverseize when instaling, don't just slap some on one side.

I think if anyone has had problems with the new design, it's really caused by two things.....no applying a uniform coat of anti seize, and not using the right tools. Actually, i'll put in a third.....no loosening and removing the cage hardware 1st, so all in the sudden it breaks loose and they think the wrench or ratchet slipped.......but it's actually loose but the cage i holding it on.

Remember......the nut you are grabbing to loosen this is 1/4 the width of the threaded hub.......here's a comparison......try powering your truck on a 5hp go-cart motor!!!

My personal opinion on pullys is simple.Buy Sals. Its ALOT cheaper and easier to put on and off as many times as you want with NO problems.I dont believe in the theory that the cage has to be there because of clearance issues.Ive had both JDM and PSP pullys and PSP is the easiest, cheapest, excellent quality. They all do the same thing you know. The dealer can tell no matter which you got.........................

I believe 19mm is a little bit bigger just a tad not much. Therefore that could cause a slip. -Mat-

thread, the problem does exist, and it might be related to
the hardness of the two parts.

If you want to just jump in and defend JDM, that's fine to, just
recognise that not everyone has great experiences with any
particular vendor, and there isn't much reason to attack someone
based on who their vendor of choice is.

Now back to regularly scheduled programming.
I am not jumping in to defend JDM. I said their old design sucked flat out. No questions asked. I know that every one has not had great experiences with them. You are gonna get that just about anywhere. Lastly, no I am not attacking you because of who you "vendor" is. I plan on calling your "vendor" and ordering a thing or two from him that I like. I am done with this thread.

Jake, goodluck with whatever you decide to get. -Mat-

Hey Sal- Bill Here:

Know you have been busy but if you are coming this way, why not throw a filter in the bed of the truck and we can see if it will fit.

Thanks all for your help! Bill Murray-

I enjoyed meeting you and the ride in Moby to hear Bassani. If you're going to SDR, hope to see you again.

Jake:

Just might do that. Sal got ahold of me last night and gave me the dates etc. I am trying to get him to do a filter for my Blackwood but I think he needs to see one first as it may be different from the L intake. Anyway, assuming he will be there I will probably be there also.
Sorry to tag on to your pulley post

Dont forget that if you throw an accessory belt on the hwy with a caged pulley, youre focked. One other benefit to running cageless.
