Wink JDM/Kooks LTs, Cats, and Midpipes.... A dyno story.

I have them on and just came back from a dynojet session. I received less gain than I had hoped for; but, with the sound thrown in, I'd say I'm happy overall. Most of the small gain was under the curve. Not much gain at peak power. Maybe I would have seen more if I had already changed over to an electric fan and a 4# lower pulley. I think my truck just doesn't respond as well to modifications as some others do. My STD numbers looked pretty darn good though.LOL

Mods:

*PSP 4-way chip
*LFP 1-2#(?) upper pulley
*JDM 2# lower pulley
*Accufab throttle body
*Factory Tech valve body
*B&M trans pan
*JDM's Silver Bullet cat-back
*Anderson Ford Power-Pipe air intake kit
*JLP ram air
*160* thermostat
*Oil Breather Cap
*Denso IT-20 Spark Plugs
*Gatorback blower belt

$1,100.00 LOL.... I've got about what a full Bassani system would cost in this setup. 2 hp is just the peak increase. There was an 8 hp increase at 3500 rpms. They also made 10 ft/lbs of torque at peak and 12 ft/lbs at 3500 rpms. This alone would not make me happy; but, the sound is incredible. You've got to hear it to believe it.

That's a lot of cash for 2hp. At least you got a good deal on the full exhaust system and did not have to pay the full $1,700.

Thats about the same gain as a 2# pulley.

Is that a 309 hp baseline on a Lightning Daniel? I have seen them at the dyno place I use; but, haven't seen anybody post numbers like that here. Is that a stock Lightning with just a full exhaust added?

Cool! I wish they would have worked out as well for me. That's pretty impressive. How many miles were on the truck when the baseline was taken?

Exactly what Vin said. heheh. I had about ~22k miles on the baseline, forget what I had when the exhaust went on, but other then miles and weather (it was hotter on the exhaust pull), no other drivetrain changes.

I own a 2000L...we've got less horsepower then you 01+ fellas.

Nah, I'm a little old for cruisin', I leave that to the teens and twenty-somethings. Gotta get up at 3:00 AM for work on Friday anyway.
