Lightbulb Should I Install My 4.10's???

Well I have all of my new mods installed except for my 4.10's. After driving my L yesterday all that I can say is WOW. My truck has simply come alive. And almost to the point I am wondering if I really even need a 4.10 gear. I am not sure that my Nitto DR's even with the JLP bars will be able to hook with the 4.10's. I had my mind set to put in the 4.10's in but now I am starting to wonder if I should even install the 4.10's and just stay with the 3.55's. My truck is only driven on the weekends and is raced more on the street than at the track. Any my local track is an 1/8 mile anyways. I was wondering if you guys think that I should install my 4.10's or just stay with the 3.55's? I actually already have the 4.10's and everything to do the install including the chip reburn but I just can't make up my mind. Any suggestions?

Thanks Soap. I am just worried that the 4# lower combined with the spray might be a little too much with the 4.10's. But I guess there is only one way to find out!

Hank,
I LOVE EVERYTHING YOUR DOING TO THAT BAD BOY
Hope to see you posting new ET's soon

As for 4.10's, I know the L's work great with 3.73's, as long as 4.10's aren't too much gear for your driving habbits, GO FOR IT.

But remember you'll be at higher RPM more often, maybe not good for the Juice ???

Yeah I know Rob that's what I am worried about. I have not ran the juice with my current mods yet. I wish I knew for sure how I would like these 4.10's before I go through all the trouble of getting them installed.

Why not just do some runs with the 3.55s and see how it goes. You can always change later.

Since your runnin 1/8th mile tracks, I'd say and go for it.

Maybee you can trade the 4:10's in for a set of 3:73's

Don I thought about that as well but is it really worth doing a gear swap from 3.55's to 3.73's? I probably will end up using the 4.10's just to see how they work out. If this thing will hook it should be a mother out of the hole with the 4.10's and the spray! Especially in the 1/8th mile!

you

Will be very sorry if you put that gearing in -

I guarantee you will end up taking them out after a very short time - Do yourself a favor save yourself some time, aggravation and money - DON'T DO IT ...

Run the truck with the 3.55's, and if your not happy, slap the 4.10's in there!

Have you ran them? I have a 2000 with 4:10's and nitrous and wouldn't take them out!

Please explain your displeasure.

RPM's - noise - daily driver woes - gas mileage - speedo calibration - highway travel
