Re, Just in case you missed my post asking for this info!
Jim would you or Silver bolt, please share the part #'s of that heli-coil set or tell us where we can get it? I have my truck down right now for rebuild and would love to do the plug thread up grade while I have it down.
Peace, Suavy

This is a great thread Jim.....I love reading this stuff.
I also know that we are just scratching the surface still and wish the new blowers weren't coming out so soon. I'm afraid it will slow down the gains in areas I'd like to see worked on.
Good show

I wonder if ford is prepping the block for the magical 500/500 that may be out in a couple of years?
How does the tranny look?

Jim,
I have a quick question about the heli coils, now they offer 10 threads for the plugs, but dont they still thread into the 4 thread part?? I guess If they were lock tited (dont think it would hold up to the temps) but something similar this would work?
I used them on my stangs head when i over torqed a plug in my alum heads. I didnt see any way to lock them in, short of possibly removing head, and using a punch and dingin the threads on the bottom side to prevent it from moving. I releize they are oversize for the hole, but on an alum head that expands and contracts, it just seems like it would loosen over time...please help me out
Just wondering if the heli coils have a chance of backing out...
?
Brandon
PS do you happen to have teh ford PN for the 03 block

Excellent times
Block part number please
Is the headgasket the same as 99-02's?
Do the 03's have the same amount of headbolts + clamping force?
Got any pics of this thickend deck?
Thanks.

In my younger and poorer days I have used Heli Coils in everything from motor cycles to outboard motors. After they were Heli coiled most of those motors finally died for one reason or another, but the helicoils never failed.
I have to admitt I had some pritty bad vehicals in my younger days.
