Talking 4.10's Are In!!!!

I finally got my 4.10 gears installed on Monday. The rain finally cleared today and I got to put a few miles on the new gears today. All that I can say is WOW!! This thing just came alive. 1st and 2nd gear now feels just as strong if not slightly stronger than my 3.55 gears did with the 75hp shot. I ran it up to a 100mph a couple of times and the extra 300 rpms is hardly noticeable at cruizing speed. Traction on the street is some what affected but I can still launch at about 3/4 throttle with my Nitto DR's and JLP traction bars. I did not run the nitrous with the gears yet but more than likely I will have to wait until 2nd gear to activate the nitrous. The only negative thing that I noticed about the 4.10's was my exhaust before the 4.10's was right on the edge of being too loud (JDM SIlver Bullet w/ High-Flow Cats) but now after the 4.10's everyone in town is looking at me as I go through town. Thank god my L is not a daily driver. Other than that the 4.10's are an excellent mod and if I had to do it over again they would have been installed a long time ago!

Cool man... You should have done before/after dyno pulls or track runs and with or without nitrous. I'd be curious to see the results of something like that.

I had 4:10's in my mustang which was a daily driver and full length headers/no cats. The friggin thing used to sound like I was in a NASCAR...I loved it.

'Opinions' and every one has one - and we're all different - and that's what makes the World go round ...

Good luck with your gears ...

I run the 28" Nitto Drag radials full-time. I really expected to have a hard time hooking up especially on the street but that just isn't the case. I was amazed at how will the Nittos and the JLP traction bars worked with the 4.10's.

Sonichog- There is only about 300 rpm's difference between the 4.10's and 3.55's. To be honest at cruizing speed if I didn't have such loud @ss exhaust I wouldn't even be able to tell that I was running the 4.10's. I have a feeling that I won't get tired of the neck snappping acceleration anytime soon!!!!!

Cool

HI!... I've been running 4.10 gears for over 4 years now. No complaints here. I actually get better gas milage with the 4.10's!!!! I can go 745KMS on one tank of fuel. That's cruising at 75MPH at 2500RPM. If you went from 3.55 gears to 4.10's your rpms would of increased 550RPM, NOT 300 rpm. If this is what your tach is showing then your tach is out of calibration. Not that the factory tach's are not accurate. Most of them are off by 300-500RPM during a WOT run.
