Might have to sell my L.

I might have to sell my lightning, and ive only had it for two months. Its got 25k miles on it with new tires. Im hoping i can get $26,000 for it, u guys think i can? The reason i am selling it is because i am going to college in a few months and i dont want to do a few things, 1. put a lot of mileage on this great truck, and 2. i dont want it getting all beat up since it will be outside all the time and no garage is available for it. These are the mods i have too.

I hate to say it but that is a really high asking price. You'll most likely end up getting around 22k for it.

How much mileage you put on it is totally under your control. I have a 2000 with 26k miles on it. Also, you can buy a car cover with a lock if you are going to leave it outside.

well how much did you buy it for, you said you only had it two months so if you bought it on the street chances are you can sell it for near that amount since youve had it such a short time.

I went through the same thing. I have an 01 and started college last year. I hated the idea of putting alot of miles on it and I was terrified that it would get vandalized. I looked into selling it and was asking 26k then 25k then 24k and nobody ever showed any interest. The gas mileage made it an inconvenience also, all my extra scholarship money goes to my truck. I finally convinced my coach to let me park it at his house so it stays safe.

Ditto.

You'd have problems getting 26K for a low mileage 2002.

really hope you don't have to get rid of it. I am also going to college in August and selling my truck is the last thing i want to do. I have been saving away money for school just so i can keep the truck... But like you, i'll re-evaluate it when the time comes...
Best of luck with the truck, Shane

yeah I got my truck with 21,000 miles on it for $21,000 privatly. I think if you try selling yours now, youll be out some money.... I think even with only 25,000 miles on it and new tires the most you'll see is $22,000 for your 2000. I may be wrong, but if i were you i'd do everything i could to try to both keep the L and not take a loss by selling it.

I purchased my 2000 for 23K with 17k miles on it. It's now pushing 22K. I would say you could shoot for 20K - 23K range. 23k was probably too much for mine but, there was somebody there the day I looked at her and I didn't want to take a chance. I'm glad I didn't.
