Thinking of debadging! Need opinions!

Today while sitting in a restaurant eating a California Turkey sandwich, I was gazing out the window at my L. After looking at it for a while with no interruption, I've come to the conclusion that the Lightning badges on the side are somewhat tacky. I asked my girlfriend what she thought and she said that they were pretty cheesy but was never going to say anything about them but since I asked she thought I was due an honest opinion. I know they are screwed or bolted on so just removing them is going to have to be the task of a top notch body shop. My mind is pretty much made up but I wanted to hear what you guys thought. Thanks!

don't do it man. the badging is what makes an L. when your driving down the road and someone mistakes you for a look - alike, its going to suck.

I thought about it once before, but it makes the truck.

I hear that arguement and I did think of it earlier. But what it comes down to is I drive my truck for me and not so other people can look at it and differentiate if from a regular F150. Your point has validity but not enough to convince me not to do it. Thanks though.

Search on Sixpipes- He pulled the badges a long time ago. There are MANY posts about how to remove the badges. Essentially you will have to have the holes behind filled and painted...

I happen to like the real clean look of no emblems. I plan to take everything I can off of my truck. And I would take the emblems off of everything I own if it was that economical. You know what you have. Let them wonder when you blow them into the weeds!

get them shaved, then painted on as ghost badges. Won't be as noticeable, and on one else in ur town will have the mod.

I agree. A person's vehicle to me, is an extension of our personality. It's what you like and not what anybody else would do to their truck. To me, the more individual you can make it, the more custom it becomes. I hate stock and I hate seeing others out there that look identical to my vehicles. It doesn't always take a lot of money or a lot of customizing to make it different, but make it the way you want it. Good luck and post pictures after you get it done.

I was going to ask, if this is your opinion, then why even ask in the first place? But, I don't want to start anything, so I won't ask

I wanted to see if someone had other suggestions or did it and then regretted it. Just wanted to know what the general concensus was.

I think it's almost as bad as V6 mustangs putting a cobra emblem on their cars. Be proud of what you have...you could always get the gen III sticker and use that if you dislike the current badge so much. Just a suggestion...
