Shifts are too soft. Like everyone else; I wish the Factory Tech Shift Kit was my first mod. I totally missed my five speed s.c. Thunderchiken; until I chirped 1-2 shift! The 2-3 shift is awesome too- it's like a cannon. Now I only miss my thunderchiken very little...

11.40s@122 if you take off your muffler and put in place straight pipes. Sorry didn't specify which pulley he had. He's lookin' to get a 2.7 upper

He's also known up here as the human shift mod. He drove my other friend's car with Dr. Gas X, bassani catback, lightning upper, chip to a 11.66@121. Other accomplishments include a 12.1@116 outta a completely stock 2002 Viper last weekend, so your time may vary.

i dont know if it was said already but the cobra main difrences are
six bolt main
forged and BALENCED internals
in the internals are the manley con rods
the cams are more aggresive
and heads obviously flow better

on another note the rods in the cobra are the same rods used to build the built lightning blocks, when i had my head gaskets replaced the svt mechanic offered to put a set in but i didn't have the money.

and as far as the half shafts there are plenty of people who are running upwards of 550 to 600 horses on the stock half shafts
weel hop is what destroys the halfshafts but if anyone here remembers 2 years agao john gullett shattered his carbon fiber drive shaft in his pro 5.0 car from weel hop.

my father has a coba and it really pulls hard and it it even easier to gain horsepower with boltons than the lightnings
you can go real fast with headders exhaust 4 lber and a chip
really will wake one up, don't belive me just go to a mustang fourm and talk to the guys who have em, heck even JDM owns a silver convert, wich is a good ten second street car.

what's the most boost you can get out of the stock eaton on the cobra? same as an L? after 13-14 #'s your creating more heat than boost? Or can you spin it any faster?
Also about the tranny, how much torque will they handle at the wheels?
thanks, shane

The problem with the Cobra is it has fully independnt rear suspension. Thats why people who run slicks, may break half-shafts. So if that becomes a serious issue for you, you upgrade the rear.
