Rusty JDM tips....Anyone else?
So I took the L out this last weekend, thru the new Blinging 20's on and I was off......Big pimp'n
So one of my buddy's wanted to see them so I drove over there for him to check them out. Of course he said they were super nice.
He says to me, "what's up with your rusty exhaust?"
I'm like shut up, because he helped me put it on. So I thought he was joking because he thought I was stupid for spending 600 bucks on just a catback. Well, he was right, there it was. It had rusted wear they weld the two tips togather. Damn.
So I call JDM yesterday, are you ready for this.......
Justin says "just take a wire brush to it."
Are you kidding me! So, I'm pissed....
So, does any one else have this problem? Maybe a fix?
No wire brushes here.........

I don't think it was me you spoke to. I was not on the phones yesterday. Most likely you spoke with either Anthony or Jeremy. If you want to give me a call and ask for me today I can help you out with your tips.
Thanks,

if its that bad with rust I would just knock it down with a soft brush first and then take some fine sand paper and sand it up and then buff it back out, but with stainless I can't see that happening. There must be somthing weird with that, is it maybe some rust water run off that settled on the pipe?

For those with the JDM Stainless Steel Exhaust tips. I cleaned the tips on my truck using the following products/procedure and had NEW looking tips after.
1. Clean the tips with a nylon wheel detail brush with soap and water. You can buy a detail brush at any store that sells automotive cleaning/waxing products.
2. Dry the tips with a towel.
3. Apply Blue Magic Metal Polish with a clean rag or terry cloth towel. Simply follow the directions on the tube. It may take 4 -5 applications. Your tips will look like new.
4. To remove the rust around the welds, apply WD-40 and wip off with a rag. Repeat until rust is gone.
Hope this helps
