These things are not ricers and by far one of the nicest Japanese cars we've had the pleasure of receiving on this side of the big lake. Right up there with the Supra, 300z, and RX7 imo.

I will be in jasper this weekend bro. I was in jasper about 2 weeks ago and raced a truck from cullman. ( Chevy 1988 model or so) said he had a 383 stroker in it. I walked off from him bad lol, we ran em at the trussell coming back from carbon hill. Then his buddy in a black Z28 beat me. He got me out of the hole somthing fierce and i never caught up. He was a manual and lives up the fall city road he said. Let me know if your gonna be out this weekend. I am about to start buying parts for the truck finally.

Ill sell you my 2lber. you can run it with no chip. If you dont have a K&N filter that would be a good mod to do. I will be in town this weekend so ill give you a call or you can call me.PS since the last time you saw my truck i got a JDM silver bullet catback, boost gauge, a ported throtle body, intercooler pump switch and fan.I also have some metco upper link traction bars ordered and some nitto 555r's.

I used to have a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT spyder, and i used to talk crap about american cars all the time. Until i drove both i knew that they were both different and good in their own ways. So dont be putting down this lancer, u might pull up next to one at a red light and get ure a$$ handed to you.
Oh, did i mention, I'm pretty sure it gets a hell of a lot more miles to the gallon than our 10 mpg lightings.

LoL i agree with you man it may just smoke me, and i know almost anything gets better gas milage then these trucks.
I just don't think it's worth 35k for the car is all. There is a market for everybody and that market is not for me. I ain't downing ricers all together. I used to have a turbo 300Z. I thought that car was great, but way to high priced for me at the time.
I whould rather buy a 23k mustang GT, and put a 7k steeda package on it. Then walk off and leave that 35k car? 400hp -vs-271.

But u gotta think of it this way too, thats 271 hp under warrenty, your not gonna get a mustang thats that fast that also has warrenty, well the new cobras arent too much more and faster too, but i would not be surpriesed if the EVO 8 has better handling cause of the 4 wheel drive and all that japanese stuff, lol.

These threads always amuse me. What is a "ricer"? If the definition is based solely on country of origin, then I guess my buddy's Supra TT must be a "ricer", but its still a sweet car. Another friend showed up at my last auto-x and kicked my a$$ with his modified NSX, but I guess it's just a "ricer", too. I've owned a few "ricers", and every one of them was built better and much more reliable than my Lightning (which is now in the shop for the umpteenth time). And beware, although there are lots of Civics out there with big fart cans, wings, and lots of stickers, and nothing to back it up, there are some that will run 10s and hand you your head. Now don't get me wrong. I like my Canadian truck, warts and all. There is something that's indescribably cool about driving a big ole pick-em-up that can blow the doors off a Viper. Furthermore, I will not buy Japanese again, but for issues not related to quality or performance. But to dismiss all Jap cars as "ricers", and not worthy of respect because they were built in Ohio or Tennessee and not Oakville strikes me as incredibly naive and chauvinistic.
