HELP !!!!!!! She runs like crap!

I thought maybe it was bad gas, but now im not sure. I was driving along at around 35 and went to give it some gas and she bogged down on me. I tried it again and the same thing happened. It only got worse! Then the CHECK ENGINE light came on. I finally stopped to see if a wire or hose came off, but everything looked fine. I put the flashers on and had to ride the shoulder home.
Heres whats wierd. It would feel like it was loading up the more i gave it the gas. Would get to the point where it wouldnt move. It would idle, but if i gave it any gas it would start stumbling.
Then i shut it off and started it back up. Seemed like it was alot better. I would start down the road and at about 40 or 45 she would start all over again. I mean i couldnt give it any gas at all without it bogging down almost to a stop.
Man I baby this ride and have done no mods to it. Im scratching my head guys. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks !

BTW its a 01

Could be a bad fuel filter.

Have you added any new mods?

I wasnt that far from home. I have mods what so ever on it. I remember some guys talking about a hose inside the gas tank coming off on earlier models. I think it was the fuel pump hose. I would think if this came off it wouldnt even run.

I had it happen to me twice. The hose didn't come off completely. It was still on the fuel pump. Just barely on that the truck can idle.

oops, forgot the NO. As in i have no mods what so ever on it. You guys think a fuel filter will crap out with only 22,000 miles on it? I did a search and found alot of guys are changing theirs at around 20,000.

she'll run with the fuel pump problem but its not going to do much of anything else. I had that happen to me too and I was so pissed off that day!!!!!!!!

I would change the fuel filter just to be safe after that.

maybe a bad fuel pump(s)? i know my jeep did the same thing after its went bad. sometimes it would run fine, then sometimes i would be on the highway and it would die on me. sometimes it just wouldnt start. dont drive on e alot either, it makes the pump suck up a bunch of crap shortening the life

LOL.... RTKILLA. I did a search and just finished reading your thread. You never did say what the problem was though. I guess now we know.
Well I dont want to take that tank out guys. I thought if it was something fairly easy like a fuel filter or something along those lines i'd tackle it myself. I hate to do it but it looks like i'll be talking to the dealer.
Is it just me or do you guys feel like some of these dealers just dont respect other peoples stuff. Besides the fact that i feel like i have to spend the whole day there with them to make sure they dont take turns going for that "test drive".
This fuel line has been an ongoing problem since 97. I just dont get it.

Do the filter first, but it sounds like pumps. Mine went out on me and it behaved like yours. Only I was pulling 4,000 pounds so It wouldn't move with any gas fed to it. She just died. Good luck.

No, I don't think you read that("20,000 miles") correctly. Most careful guys are changing the fuel filter in under 10,000 miles. I think the manual says "every 12,000 miles".
