and almost equally as stupid is this statement:

More importantly, stomping on the gas at 90mph is not a good idea, each of those kickdowns is probably more stress on the drivetrain than 500 lauches from a standstill. This is the main reason the engine went boom
Only thing harder on the drivetrain is winding up an engine and dropping it into drive from a standstill. Launching, say, at a dragstip is second.

Hmmm didn't know kickdowns on the highway were that dangerous. I do them every now and then from 80/85 - whenever traffic comes up again. Dont drive on the HW much but will this weekend.

Gonna have to keep that in mind i suppose

I do them once in a while from 45-55mph and burn tires. Guess I bet stop doing that until I save enough for a Monster Box.

Warranty

Why should FORD pay for anybodys scew up. Then everbody with
a real warranty problem is under scrutiny. All these would be
"racers" that modify there Lightning should pay there own way
and not try to JAM it down Fords throat. ****

[sarcasm]
That'll be because it was "Ford's Fault" for not "putting better rods" in the engine "without increasing the price" because who would buy a Lightning and not be "expected" to mod it. What were they thinking.
