It may not be fair, but thats whats on the street. Just like when and if the Viper truck hits the bricks V-8 vs V-10. So who cares, bring them on

The magnum 440 was rated at 375 HP and 490 ft/lbs. The 426 street hemi was the 425 HP beast, although a quick 440 could beat it on the street with the massive torque. I had a GTX which was a blast (440).

Yeah I'm sure the FIRST question guys ask when they run in to buy thier L is "Hey whats the payload of that sucker?"
wait.... new DODGE commercial:
L at stop light ..Dakota R/T pulls up ,guy rolls down pass window and yells ...Hey can that thing beat a Hemi, cuz it sure can spank my truck ? Driver yells back, Yeah but they got a better payload....ha ha ha......

First of all I must say I am tired of you guys slamming the new Hemi. I have a 02 F-150 4.6 that is turbocharged and a new Hemi std. cab short box 2wd. I have also had chevys in the past and like them all. You comparing these hemi trucks to a Lightning is rediculous. My Hemi with 680 miles on it ran a 15.39 @86 mph at one track and a 15.19 at another. PLEASE show me a 5.4 similar truck that will do that. With dynatech long tube headers, MBRP cat back exhaust, and an Airriad aircleaner the truck ran 15.01 @88.9 at the first track . The same night with a 100 shot of NX the truck ran 13.64 at 99.8 mph. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE show mw an N/A 5.4 with NX that will do that. So with a 25 thousand dollar truck and $2200 in bolt ons I am out running most new stock Lightnings. HaHa. Don't even say that NX is cheating ( the first thing a Lighning owner says when he gets his butt spanked) because it is classified in all drag racing classes as a SINGLE power adder. The same as a supercharger. Don't get me wrong Lightnings are awesome trucks and although I have not owned one I have worked on a few really cool ones. I am just tired of all this negative Hemi stuff. Oh and by the way to the people that say the Doges are ugly, at least they are unique and didn't have to borrow there look from a Toyota T-100.
Thank You
Terry

a serious racer such as yourself, would certainly have some underhood pics and time slips to back up your claims of a 13 second hemi, and a turbo 4.6 ford. those of us with similar, although much faster and cooler rides, would still like to see what the "little ones" are doing, or something

HI!... By the way the Toyota T-100 was copied off the F-150 body style, NOT the other way around.
There have been guys on this site (RAOUL) that have gone a 15.7E.T in 90 dgree plus heat with a bone stock F-150 with 5.4. So 260H.P 5.4 VS. a 345H.P 5.7 HEMI and only 3.1 tenths difference? All I can say is I have a "99" F-150 with the 5.4 and just simple bolt-ons. Still has stock heads and cams. I'll run 13's in N/A mode all day long. I don't need to go to nitrous to get there.

This question is for rob_02 , and whoever else owned a hemi, or was around them a lot back in the 60-70's musclecar era.
Does this new engine have the distinctive "hemi" sound you remember?
Just curious, i have never seen nor heard a "real" hemi. I have always been told they have a very distinctive sound. This engine sounds like most modern v/8 engines to me.
Is it true, that most modern day engines, are basicly hemispherical head engines anyway ?

Let me first say hello and welcome to our board.
Next we did not get our F- body from Toyoda T-100 we actually took them to court for that and trying to call it T-150.
As far as the Hemi, I believe it was Dodge comparing their self to the Lightning. I did see a video at work of a bone stock hemi truck and a comparable F-series and we won! I may add it was not a lightning. I promise I will post the exact model Monday.
By the way I am a member of Ford Management so this info is not hear say!
Peace, Suavy
