Boost Levels

Is it safer to run a high boost level on a Kenne Bell or other after market blower than the stock eaton? For example on a stock bottom end is 15 pounds of boost safer on a Kenne Bell than the stock eaton?

Quick answer--> "NO"

But how JLP and Sal explain it, you can get A LOT more HP with
LESS boost with the K/B and Works.

Bottom line no matter what you got up top. It seems our bottom end is safest at 2-4lbs of extra Pulley, of course faster at 6-8 lb's, but the more extra Boost you have, the hotter and higher cylinder temp and pressure you'll have. That of course, puts you at a higher risk to break.

Thats the idea behind the bigger and better aftermarket S/C's,
more HP with less boost and stress on the motor.

Anyone know if Johnny blew the bottom end on his Harley yet?

He put a KB on it and I thought he was running 18lbs of boost just to trash the bottom end to put on of his in... the surprise was that the darn thing was holding up fine for three months now...

Any word?
