well

see that is why I don't trach other car owners.

I was surprised no one trashed us, compliments.

the thing I like is that with only a thousand dollars we can get A GREAT INCREASE in performance. Some "other cars" you have to spend several thousands of dallars to get an equal amount of increase in performance.

Tip:
when racing a Porsche Carrera RS at 110-mph, don't let up so they can catch up, just go all the way.

I have a slightly modified C5 vette and as of 2 days ago I picked up an 02 Lightning. I live 15min from a drag strip and always see Lightnings there and was impressed. Last summer I ran a red Lightning 3 times from a dead stop- there was 3 people in the truck; me and the wife in the C5. The 1st race I gave the L the jump because I wasnt sure if he was gonna go for it. Well, he did and got good traction while I spun- 2 truck lengths for the L.
The 2nd time I gave him the go again and spun and lost-Again.
3rd time I didnt spin so bad and we were side by side till about 100mph then I pulled away.
That night I decided I would have to get one of those big, noisy trucks. I couldnt believe the traction he was getting out of the hole, as I spun. These trucks are the ultimate street racers. My L is stock and my wife in the C5 slaughters me bad. The C5 runs 12.4-5 at the strip w/ drag radials. The street is another story...
To mod a auto C5 is quite pricy since the vendors stereotype vette owners as being rich, and rape you on parts. To go any faster w/ C5 will take heads/cam or NO2/blower so thats as fast as its gonna get. If I could get my Lightning to go 12.5-7 Id be Must hang w/wife in vette

Blue Bolt: Corvettes get respect 'over here' and it was good to see respect given 'over there'.

You can get your L into the 12.7s with the stock exhaust and plugs. My 01 L hit that with a 3 lb pulley, CAI, 160* 'stat, Truck Traks, M/Ts, etc. Go for it !

That's one of the reasons I sold my C5 convet...to avoid the "Corvette Surcharge". Now I have the "Lightning Surcharge"

Thumbs up

to get a vehicle into the 12's for less than $1K is not unheard of, but the fact that ours weighs 5K racing weight is freakin ludicrous, or something
