Just read a thread about him killing a modded cobra by a couple car lengths. And defending a stock ls1 motor vs stock lightning all day day long.
Yes, it was quite fun after the 03 Cobra owner said I didn't have a chance. But once again, please turn to page 1 of this thread.

For those who are a little 'slow'...
I, David Z28's (AKA DAM LS1), hereby proclaim that my '98 Z28 IS NOT STOCK

I respect your right to believe what you want. You can believe that OJ was not guilty, Saddam was really a nice guy inside, and that a stock Lightning is faster than a stock LS1. But I just can't deny the evidence. For further reference please visit this site:

Ahh ... so now the TRUTH comes out!

My 11 second F-body is bone stock (shortblock) also.

But in all honesty, LS1s can be made to go fast a lot easier than Lightnings can. Of course, they weigh less and have a lot better aerodynamics. It's quite common to see 11s out of an LS1 with lid, cam, TC, chip, etc.

But again, why argue over money? Irrelevant argument if you're going to just race and I stick to the old addage of "run what ya brung."

No, she also won't be able to buy a Z28, Trans Am, Grand National, Syclone, Typhoon, Mustang SVO, 5.0L Mustang, S351 Saleen, 351 Lightning, Turbo Supra, 2002 Lightnings or the hundreds of awesome vehicles that are no longer for sale in the US.

But, there are plenty of used Z28s with low mileage available. Hope you don't mind getting drug by your sister.

In all seriousness, if she wants a fast new vehicle she could buy a Cobra, Corvette, or GTO.

cyntaxx, can you explain the "run whatcha brung" concept to some of the folks in the audience. For some reason, a bunch of people seem to believe it's not fair to unless you disclose all of your mods, ETs, and date of birth thus making the outcome of the race known before the start.

You're correct DAM_LS1. No need to disclose anything. However, no real need to lie about your mods either (not saying that you are).

The "run what ya brung" motto also includes NOT putting a price tag behind every mod you have in order to justify why one vehicle is better than the next because if that were the case, no one would be putting around in Ferrari's and Lambos or Renntech Benzes....everyone would be driving 5.0s, LS1s, LT1s, or riding crotch rockets...

I really don't see what the big deal is about disclosure BEFORE a race. I'm not mad at Nate for tying to sneak on a pulley.

But, I'm with ya on the bang for the buck arguement. All that matters is who is at the finish line first. I merely posted a rebuttal. We'd all be driving 5.0s if we only cared about HP per $.

Oh, and here's a thread on your forum about the "fictious" race I had with a 03 Cobra. The video is gone but notice the name of the video link.

BTW, the guys in the thread are also wrong about my mods. Built motor and NOS, lol.

Thank you. I lost the file and tried Google as well but came up empty handed. I found plenty of old threads, but they all have old links.

Yeah, Don't lie! Don't be freaking arguing about how a 300 rwhp 280 rwtq can beat a lightning, or for that matter a stock vette. And telling people "I'm am stock, no wait, i have a cam, no ermmm, i have a full built motor and juice." Yeah run what ya brung, but don't be sitting there lieing about what you have done with your car.

Oh, I dont doubt that at all. A bunch of guys from the local tralier park own Z28's & SS's...& thay got 'em goin' pretty fast. They are without a doubt movin' those mullet's down the quarter to the tune of 12's & even 11's, all while squeezing a can of Bud-Light between their legs...... but who really wants to watch?

Why? Are you saying that I am not qualified to give an opinion because my car is no longer stock? I've have my car for over 5 years, so I'm pretty knowledgeable about the subject.

Also, you don't own a stock Lightning. Please explain your logic.

Aw Nate, are you still mad that you were fished in when you thought I was slow? I've already let you off the hook. You were too small to keep, so I threw you back in the water. More of a catch and release.

I thought we squashed this last week, but now you're getting all froggy again. Did you run out of Ritalin?
