Why does my head unit hum?

Okay no jokes, but I noticed that after listening to moderate volume the unit hums noticably(sp). Could this be because of the Pioneers drawing too much or do I just have a bad unit? It goes in tomorrow for some warrenty stuff, so I was just wondering if I should add it to the list. Thanks.

Sorry: Headunit is stock. Only change is speakers. Only hums after it is warmed up and does not hum through the speakers but the actual unit hums. Seriously I'm not making this up. Maybe it's that Evanesence disc. That chick is sort of hot.

Mine does the same thing and I have the stock head unit too. I am going to bring it in to the dealer next week and see if they can fix it.

There is a TSB that may address your problem.

TSB Number Issue Date TSB Title

02-16-4 AUG 02 Audio System - Whining/Buzzing Noise From Speakers

I don't know if this is it but may be worth a shot.

The 6 disc in dash changers and the single disk units have a cooling fan on them. That is probably what you are hearing.
