exhaust

I am about to get exhaust on my 03. Just wanted to get some feedback. Who has the best bang for the buck? I don't mind paying for a well thought out system that will have good sound, free up some ponies, and above all, last.
Thanks.

A Bassani catback will make you happy.

Best bag for the buck is definately the Magnaflow catback, for $40 more then the Mac catback which is complete junk imho. Its an inferior copy of the Magnaflow with some cheesy grey paint they call HTS coating and chrome tips.

Others have opted for the 2X more expensive Bassani which turns your truck into a glasspack sounding 64 Impala. It can also interfere with most traction devices.

Then you got custom exhaust kits from JDM and REM.

Exhaust questions have been covered here twofold. If you use the search feature, im sure you will get enough reading material for 2 days.

I think there was a problem with Metco's Track Link traction bars, that's why they made the Upper Link traction bars so they would work with a any aftermarket exhaust system.

I have had Jay's Truck Traks on mine along with JDM's long bars and there was no problem with interference with my Bassani.

ICULOKN had Cal Tracks on his with a Bassani. Which traction bar system does it have a problem with?

Well the majority use a rancho bar, unlike you and i Tim who uses Jay's bars.

Im sure as a vendor, you will promote what you sell. However, Bassani does interfere with peoples traction devices when they use their drop shackles. 1/4" clearance isnt considered " safe or acceptable " by any means.

I feel if a person is going to invest in the most expensive exhaust system, they should be aware of future bolt on obsticles that lurk ahead.

I agree with Flying ****... The Magnaflow is going on my truck. I was going to go with a Bassani, but you can get the Magnaflow for HALF of the cost. Not to mention, it still sounds phenomenal, and it's still stainless steel...

gitit 03:

I strongly suggest that you consider an exhaust system
form a WWII P-51D Mustang with the RollsRoyce Merlin
Engines...This should increase your horsepower by
1000 percent...but then you'd have to qualify for a aviation
license...

Like someone else has stated in a previous thread, anytime you ask this question you're just polling the board on who has which exhaust. Of course the Bassani owners are gonna vote for Bassani, hell they spent 600+ bucks on it!! Same with JDM Silver Bullet owners, Magnaflow owners, Mac owners, etc.

If I were looking for a catback right now, I think the price vs. quality ratio of the Magnaflow is unbeatable...

Thanks.
Well, I just went with the Bassani catback on my new '03 L and all I can say is WOW! Look great, sound great, easy to install.
What a difference between the Magnaflow catback I recently heard on an L and the Bassani on mine. Well worth the extra $.
