NMRA @ Ennis, TX today (pics)
Well today (Sat.) was a hot bastard at the track. There wasn't a big turnout for some reason. BUT, I got to meet John and Sue Wiker finally. Very nice people. And Paul Gamino came up from Houston to make some qualifying passes today. He ran into a little problem after his 2nd or 3rd pass, but I think he has it all straightened out now for Sunday. Both John and Paul had some traction issues and John also had a fuel starvation problem about 100' out. Even with those problems John had, he still managed to pull off a 10.7 backing it with a 10.8. I don't know how he did it since he is only running 19#s of boost. Paul's best time was an 11.8 I believe, but I know he will be quicker on Sunday. That problem he had was just slowing him down.
Well, here are some pics. Sorry for the crappy quality. I don't have a focus. Enjoy

One thing for sure, those two guys are hooking up with those numbers. Paul has been quicker so I hope he gets her straightened out. Johnny is defying all Lightning standards, and just short of winning a Pulitzer Prize for his efforts.
Nice update JD, keepem coming so we can all enjoy the event from our chase loungers

Send them to me I just got back and am working on getting mine off my camera now.
Paul Gamino from Houston won the Truck class, and Lupe Davilla won mod motor. Congrats to both - THey are both great guys and great competitors. You would think with all the winnings they had between them they could have popped for dinner at Chilis ....
