10 Second Street Terror
Hide the woman and children, the Big Red Machine is loose on the streets.
The wife and I had a nice drive today, going crusing to the beach, the Vietnam Memorial park, and just around town in general. The truck has not been driven on the street in over 1.5 years, so it was nice to be able to stretch her legs (the trucks legs you sickos).
Also, it's no big secret that I do not acheive our awesome ETs by stripping the truck down like all the other 10 second trucks out there. My truck is in full street trim, 4800lbs, and has every factory part in working order. Stock seats, working A/C, tailgate, Bedrug, bed cover, rear slider, factory seat belts and interior, etc, etc. No frame re-enforcements have been removed, no removed front bumper supports, no fancy lightweight tubular front suspension, no aftermarket coil overs and rack and pinion steering. All I had to do to drive the truck on the street, is put the stock wheels back on, and put some 93 octane in it. THAT'S IT. I drove it on public roads without the fear of getting killed if someone slammed me.
I also installed a new underhood accessory . A huge azz honkin Works 140. This thing is bad azz. The power is insane. I am making 24 psi, and was actually driving around on our track program, with no drivability issues. Huge fuel rails and regulator, cams, 55lb injectors, 24 psi and perfect street manners. This is the advantage of having full tuning abilities that Autologic gives us. Hard starts, tip in issues, WOT fuel, decel IAC issues, rolling idle - all these were issues that came from this combination of radical parts, and through our custom tuning, the truck now drives better than stock.
This is what I offer to my customers, performance from pure power, no need to butcher the truck or spend tons of money on un-needed parts. There's nothing wrong going the other route, it's just not my bag.
And now here is a pic from today, with links to more below it:

It is great to see that your truck is back to her beautiful self..
She is a sweet truck and I am very glad you are out enjoying her.
But not All of the other 10 second trucks are gutted race trucks.
I know my truck is heavy, in race trim it is just under 4800 lbs. and in street trim it is a 4900 lb. beast. I know Kevins truck is no stripped race truck either. They may not be mid to low 10 second trucks yet, but they will be. My truck I think? is in the number 5 spot right now, but give it a week and that may change. You're in the number 1 spot right now, so enjoy it while you can. There are more and more fast trucks being born every day, no one stays in first for ever.
Again, it is very good to see your truck, and I do mean that.

I have to agree 100% with you Sal. I guess it's okay to have a race truck only if that's your cup of tea but most people want to run fast but also be able to run on the street as well. I think your truck is the perfect example of this. Heck if you removed the stickers from your L it would look 100% stock. From a marketing point of view it's smart as well. Most people do not care if someones truck runs 10's if they have to remove the A/C, power steering and remove a lot of supports just too do it. I am glad to see that you didn't turn your truck into a race only vehicle yet you are still one of the fastest Gen 2's in the county.
Sal, any way that I can borrow it for a week end without the stickers so that I could earn a little extra money at the local street races???? LOL
