3lb vs. 4lb sizes?

Ok.....after this long weekend, I have lower pulley problems.

I currently have a JLP 3lb pulley that I bought used. Then I just bought a 4lber, used.

With the JLP lower pulleys they don't mark what there pulley's are.

So, any body know how to tell what I have?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

JL started marking their pullies about October 2001 I think. Measure the diameter(to top of ridges) not including the lip on the sides(if it has a lip). Get back to us on that.

ok on my supposed 4lber, over all is 8 3/8"(outer ring). This would be the over all diameter.

Now the ridges are almost 1/16" less than the outer ring.

So 1/16 + 1/16 = 1/8

Finally the measurement from ridge to ridge would be 8 1/4".

Which is a JLP 3lber!

I think I'm just going to go get a PSP 4lber. Man I'm pissed.

The pullies will vary in size from the vendor manufacturer.

To be honest you will most likely not see much power increase from 3lb to 4lb. I wouldn't waste my money on that small of a change. I did back in 2001...

uh...

there isnt a stamp on the pulley with the corresponding number?

Both my 3 and 4 lb pulleys came that way.

...or stand them with the bowls facing each other. the smaller one will be the 3.
