Wink Just as we all thought my chip had NOTHING to do with my motor failure

I big thanks to SVT. Without them this would have NEVER had a happy ending. After calling SVT they sent a Field Service Engineer to look at the motor. Even though he said he thought the piston was burned because of the chip, he said if it was not, he would authorize a new motor. THANKS SVT! Come to find out (even though I was told the wrist pins were press fit) the number one piston had no circlips to hold the wrist pin in place. They pushed the other three pistons out of the right bank and they ALL had circlips in the pistons. They did not find either clip nor did they find any metal in the oil pan. Now the only thing that pissed me off is that I've been without my truck for a month (without a free rental also)! If I had it to do over again I would have told them to pull the piston at my expense right off the bat and then after seeing what the cause was fought them at that point. The moral to this story is you DO NOT have to pay to play if you are in the right and you treat people the way you want to be treated. I'm still not happy about the way this went down but at least I am not buying a motor at 4000 miles.

Woo Hoo !!!

I am so happy for you Jerry !!! So much for all the FORD
bashing that goes on around here! They did the right thing
in the long run.....

It's just too bad your blood pressure had to suffer to get it
accomplished ....

SVT and Ford should be ashamed. They should reimburse you at least $20-30 per day you were without your truck. If this happened to you it has also happened to others. I also think some people may owe you an apology...

Glad to hear everything is working out for you. I've always been a firm believer in handling the situation with professionalism like you did and you will get rewarded in the end. When there are problems you need to be firm but calm. To many times I see some of these members on here jump in and say"I would have bashed his face in" or "kick the chit out of the guy if you don't get what you want". That mentality usually gets you nothing but grief. Congratulations again, and you should be a model to the rest of us.

Thats great news Jerry.

Its really a friggin shame that it took a month to come to the conclusion that the chip didn't cause the problem. So are they going to issue you a car while the heart transplant is taking place?

I admire your stance and your honesty. See good things, DO happen too good people

Thats great news Jerry!
Problems like that happen every where!
As you know I am building my beast! My master engine builder who builds dragsters and Stock cars set my right bank timing off 3 links! Yes thats right 3 links... That cause 4 damaged pistons, 3 broken rockers 7 bent valves!!!
The are covered the repair 100% but I have now been with out my truck for 6 months! I will have it finished by this weekend and try it out Sat.

Hope you get your L the hell out of there as fast as possible,
