Question Is this the right cam bolts kit from Roush

I just called Roush and the guy said that they have an F150 cam bolt kit for $20 plus $7 dollars shipping and it comes with the cam bolts and washers(you must reuse your factory nuts). Is this the right kit for the Lightning as well to fix alignment problems along with the clunk washers? Also, does anyone have a how-to install the bolts and/or pictures of the install? I figure i would ask now and not waste another post on this.

Thanx,
Bill

Cam washer: 0097-3201-AA

Mine were 3/each. 24 bucks total plus shipping.

Thanks for the numbers cyntaxx, I will call and order them tomorrow. Andy, I still have not gotten that put on yet, I am hoping to this weekend. Had a little alignment thing I wanted to get fixed first, before i start shredding the tires off with the increased power. Hey Cliff, are those the cam bolts in picture number 9 on the other thread that you are pulling out? I think they are but just want to be sure, and thanx for the how-to I think it will help a lot.

Thanx Guys,
Bill

So, when i do my cam bolts, do i take out the shims(the parts that are colored red) that you are talking about as well? Also, do the washers go on the bolt side or the nut side, your pics do not show? And on the passenger side, are the cam bolts supposed to go in from the outside like the pics show or is that backwards, just checking?

Thanx,
Bill

Yes to the shims ... They are not required anymore after
the Cam Bolts.

I have been told by the Alignment shoppe guys that they
prefer the nuts on the outside.

There is a "washer" or cam for each side of the bolt. One
on the HEAD end and one on the NUT end.

Good luck ...

WOW!!!

I just got off of the phone with Eric from Roush, and the prices for these are $5.00 per bolt and washer . That's $60.00 plus $9 shipping to my door for 4 cam bolts and 8 cam washers. Cliff, are you sure that it needs two washers per bolt? I have heard many say they just bought 4 bolts and 4 washers , but i would rather do it right the first time since Ford sure didn't .

Thanx,
Bill

If I'm not mistaken, the cam bolts include attached washers already. Here is a pic of what I order in the way of cam bolts and washers. Those washers attached to the bolts came like that by the way:

OK, I saw your reply cyntaxx and immediately called Roush yesterday afternoon right before I had to leave for my night class, and Eric caught my order and took 4 of the washers off of it before they sent it. After I told him what your picture had on it, he said that was his fault he remembered that was how they are sold, so you have the right thing. I still paid $40 plus $7 dollars shipping though, but if they are the best then it is worth it.
