Question I need EVERYONE'S opinion especially those with KB's on a stock bottom end.

Well my truck just doesn't feel fast anymore. It plain and simple feels like a slug to me. I am sure most of it is heat related but I want more power(don't we all>???). So I am really thinking about putting a KB blower on top at around 14PSI. I am seeing 13-14PSI now with the stocker. I know most are gonna say it is gonna go Kaboom! But I would also like some feedback from the guys that have this done. How are things holding up>??? I am not too worried about the motor going since I should have a built Long Block in the next few months but I want something to hold me over until that time comes. All help and opinions and greatly appreciated. Thank You, -Mat-

There are lots of guys with K/Bs and stock motors running around Southern California. Some are on Lightnings and some are on Harley's. Most people are running between 13 and 18 pounds of boost. Frank's truck runs 11.70s at 118 mph and has 72,000 miles on it with a stock motor. When driving on the street almost everyone is using 91 octane gas and having no problems. I run around 15 pounds (no boost guage) using a stock lower and a 3" upper. Runs fine on 91. Just make sure that it does not ping! I am thinking of going to a 2.75 inch top pulley to get back some of the bottom end that I feel the Magnaflow catback lost. The K/Bs pull like a freight train all the way to the red line. You will like it! Skip

Do it man!! Just keep'er detuned. For the same amount of boost, you should get some more snap since its more efficient, right? Do it Do it Do it!!!! Ya ya!

Keep the timing reasonable and the A/F proper and you should be fine. There are many, many people running 14 lbs. with the stock chip.

And if you are running 14 lbs. with the Eaton, you will be fine with the KB. The cooler boost will provide more safety than you have now.

I have a KB on a stock block, I was running ( Boost gauge in the mail) 14 lbs for a couple of days, now running 16 lbs on stock chip, no pinging or problems of any kind other than leaving ALOT of power on the table due to not having a chip. I wish the Diablo Predator would hurry up an come out!!

I know what you mean about the heat.....I was at the track yesterday, bone stock Lightnings were running 13.90 - 14.0's ( they usually run 13.50 - 13.60)and my best was 12.82 @107
