I switched to Mobile 1 5W30 when my '03 L recently reached 3000+ miles. I wanted an oil filler cap that was factory labeled Mobile 1 . Anyway, found a guy on eBAY selling them. Bought one and took a very small sticker to change the 10 to a 5 on the 10W30 Mobile 1 cap. Looks very good. Oh, I also used the stock oil filler cap gasket on the unit I bought on eBAY as it comes without a gasket. Have logged over 700 miles with the new cap and no leakage, etc.. Email him from there and tell him you want a cap versus bidding up the eBAY bid for same is my suggestion..

Does mobile 1 make 5w-30 i couldnt find it last time i bought oil?

 

they sure do, 0w30 too, its 5w20 that i think they dont make.

 

Mobil 1 makes 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30, 10W-30, 5W-20 (very hard to find though... it has a grey cap), 15W-50, . 5W-20 is the hardest to find, I've been looking since december and have only found it once at a Wal-Mart. Nice filler cap by the way. What exactly did you have to do to make it say "5W-30" on the cap? I would like to have one of those.

 

I used a small/tiny, thin #5 vinylized sticker I found somewhere and just stuck it over the 10 so now the cap reads 5W-30 . Funny, unless you look real close you do not even realize the #5 is a sticker.

 

I find Mobile 1 5W30 at Walmart quite often. You can get it in 5 qt. bulk bottles or 6 qt. bottles in a cardboard carrier. Walmart's price for Mobile 1 is usually quite good.
