Toluene is the way to go for an octane boost. I did a fair amount of research on it. It is a major component of many race fuels and is used in pump gas. Its octane rating is 114. The only thing I read negative about a high ratio to gas, is that above a 20% content of toluene in your tank, your gas is no longer considered gasolene by Federal standards. Now what the H%LL that means I don't know. Bottom line though, it is the safest and most effective way to boost your octane (with some lubricant for higher ratio mixes). There are several articles out there on toluene used for this purpose if you do a search.

Xyline you need to put some lubercant in no matter what ratio you run and can only run up to a 30% mix. Hope this helps.

Xylene = 117 (nowhere NEAR 127)
I've ran it in my old Lightning and it made a NICE difference in power.
