I was mixing 1 can for every 3 gallons of 91.

Also, 1 to 1 with 100 octane.

I use tolulene to clean the glue off of leading edges of aircraft before I put a new de-ice boot on.

Toluene Gasoline Octane
93 Oct Mix
10% of mixture compared to tank cap is safe

1 Gal 24 Gal 93.84
2 Gal 23 Gal 94.68
3 Gal 22 Gal 95.52
4 Gal 21 Gal 96.36
5 Gal 20 Gal 97.20
6 Gal 19 Gal 98.04
7 Gal 18 Gal 98.88
8 Gal 17 Gal 99.72
9 Gal 16 Gal 100.56
10 Gal 15 Gal 101.40
11 Gal 14 Gal 102.24
12 Gal 13 Gal 103.08
13 Gal 12 Gal 103.92

Equation;
(24 * 93) + (1 * 114) / 25 = 93.72

I also add 2oz of marvel mystery oil per gal of toluene, (for lubrication)

My truck is a toluene junky... She needs her weekly fix..
Been doing it for about the last 10,000 miles with out no ill effects.

Yup

Roughly:

2 parts 92 Octane
1 part Toluene
=
99 octane

Thanks for the good info....Yeller you can go here to find a location for tolulene www.sherwinwilliams.com
The only reason you need to run this is because you are/will be running allot higher timing. Normally on a street program you will not need this...

Cool

HI!... Is there any adverse effects to using tolulene??? Will it destroy o2 sensors, high flow cats??????? I'm really interested in this. I have had a custom burned SUPERCHIP "FLIP-CHIP" in my truck for about 2 years now and have never had a chance to run the "RACE" side yet. Mike T set the race side to be ONLY used with at least 100 octane (unleaded) and I would like to try it. I've just installed all new o2 sensors and MAGNAFLOW high flow CATS and don't want to wreck them. Any info on this would be great. Thanks

Have not heard of any ill affects just make sure you get the mix right. This is why I started the thread...100 octane fuel around here is 3.50/4.00 per gallon...I believe this is a cheaper alternative to the same gain..

Also gasoline already contains 5 to 7 percent tolulene..

Neal,

I run my tank down to about 1/4 then throw in a 5 gal
can of Toluene (Sherwin Williams - 22.50 on commercial account!)
to get to about 103 Octane. I have run and dynoed this on
my STRIP side of the chip, which I think Sal said is for > 100 Octane.

Good luck ... Go run it ... You will be amazed ...

Make sure you don't mix more than 1 part toulene to 2 parts gas without adding adding some sort of lubricant. Toulene is drier than gas, and adding to much can have very ill affects. I have been using it for years and it works well if you can get the mixture right. Just do the math.

The proper spelling is Toluene, but you may find it at some hardware or paint stores under the name of Tolusol. It's one and the same product. Anybody interested in some large volumes? We buy the stuff by the rail car (30,000 gallons) and usually go through about 2 rail cars a month.
