Irwindale speedway.
Here I am Mr. Law abiding citizen, going to a legally aproved drag strip. I drove two ****ing hour all the way there to find out minor's with out a parent can't race. Now, lets go to the statistics, I'm sure 1/4 of most illegal street racers are under the age of 18. Now lets go to LA's measure on cracking down on street races. The country URGES these such racers to go to a legal drag strip. Now lets go forward to present. I am 17 years old and was very excited to meet all the guys down at Irwidale and run the truck. Then they tell me I can't race. So to sum it all up, where the hell do those 1/4 of the street racers go legally to race? NOWHERE. Heck I could be wrong, am I missing something really important here? Seems like LA and Ventura just screwed all racers from ages 16-18.....

Damn!
I had a Huffy Santa Fe 10-speed whan I was 17 and felt like I was getting over. Good luck dealing with the HARSH realities of adulthood.
Got a POS $750 Caprice at age 19. Wife (who also has a MS in engineering) got her first ( a lime green Chevette) at 20. We're both tough as nails, likely as a result, and are well equipped to deal with life's TRUE difficulties.
This stuff kills me.
WAAAAAAAAH!

Go wahhh yourself man, it seems that you have some growing up to do. All that Fub is saying is that all the police in the LA/Ventura area advise street racers to take it to the track, but when most of the tracks get shut down and people are denied entry to race, where else is there to go? I completely see his point because I was in the same boat less than a year ago. Good for you that you had a caprice as your first car, but don't think that it's right to come in a thread and ***** on someone for wanting to race legally. That sir, is immature
And by the way, I'm only 18 and consider myself much more mature than half of the adults that I know, age is nothing but a number.

I know of only two places in california, where your age isnt a concern. Qualcom in San Diego and the other is up in Monterey County.
Tracks have liability and require a signature for them to be left not liable if something was to happen to you. I know it sucks, but.
Hell, at 17, you should be damn lucky you drive a Lightning
