I'd get the 350Z. Oh, and save some $$ for a few high speed DE events.

A good friend of mine recently bought a Mach 1, and I can honestly say that it is an impressive car. Stock vs. stock it ran with the Lightning. Fairly good handling, great brakes (brembos), and of course it looks good.

Brembo rotors with PBR Calps. Good brakes none the less. Hell, SVT should of used the same ones. My SVT Foci has over engineered brakes

Build quality? Honoring warrantee?

personally i would go with the mach 1 but that is just me. The 350Z seems to be a really well balanced car. Enough power to get you goin pretty quick and excellent handling. The mach on the other hand has more power and is just faster...in a straight line. I think the decision depends on the style of driving you like.....drag racer type or twistys type...if you like going fast in a straight line get the stang....but when it comes to taking turns the Z will beat the stang. Just from the looks of it...im not going off any personal experience, just what i have seen in pics...the Z would probably be a more comfortable car. Really the best thing to do is take a test drive in both....do it twice if you have to...and decide which one is right for you. Good luck. Im sure you will be happy with whatever decision you make, both cars are very cool.

the Z is a turd, get the mach 1

the Z car is for girls, it's cute, but not fast...

also, it has numerous "first model year bugs" such as premium stereo that sounds simply horrible, and many owners have problems with the front end eating tires (I suspect many more owners have this problem and don't know it yet... the car in these pics is on it's second set of tires in something like 7000 miles or less. Nissan obviously knows there is a problem, because they replaced one set of tires and did an alignment under warranty, when the second set started chopping, Nissan said it was "normal"!? If you decide on the Z over the mach, I'd at least go test drive the G35 coupe, it's a much nicer looking car and I suspect it'll have better warranty coverage results.

two other guys in my shop (brothers) both bought '03 Mach 1s, an azure blue automatic and a red 5 speed. both cars have gone 13.50s BONE STOCK, and the 5 speed guy had NEVER been to the dragstrip before in his life. they bought some drag radials this past week, so I suspect both cars (especially the red one minus the traction issues he was having) to run a little faster.

just my .02

later,
chris

I'd go for the Mach1! Retro muscle car high tech style. Nothing like Detroit bred V-8 power IMO.

It's going to be a hard decision. One thing we do not care for is tracton controll. That's no fun. I want to be able to throw it around....slide the rear end.

Chris, thanks for your input. That will be a big concern of mine. I hate cars that eat front tires.

We concidered the RX8 but the specs on it say 235 HP but only 159 ft. lb. of tq.
