I am going for the second time tommorow and could use some tips

Couple of questions......

1. Should I drop the air in my tires???

2. Does it matter if I am in overdrive or not???

Any other tips?????????

I run my rear tires (stock F1's) at 26 psi on the track. Doing a big burnout doesn't help stock tires much (well it's fun but it doesn't help) and stay out of the water.

Overdrive: I've never noticed a difference. You'll be in 3rd gear at the end of the track.

Ask Flying **** - he has the best launch technique - 1.4x 60'

I believe it's magic pixie dust in the water box. They sell it at most Advance Auto Parts.

hehe

Actually, on F1's, most people put the back air at about 28-30psi, and launch anywhere from idle to 1100 RPMs... It's all about how the track is prepped. A chitty prepped track will give you terrible launch almost no matter what you do.

Burnouts on F1s don't do much, just warm em up a little to clean off anything. I skip the water box. Netted me 1.8x 60's

I can't say that I agree on launching at anywhere near the stock air pressure for the rear tires. I would say around 24 psi maybe.

My first time ever at the track I dropped me rear F1s to about 24psi, did a very lite burnout, brought it up to about 1000, rolled into it pretty quick. Very little tire spin and I cut a 1.9 60ft my 3rd run. Pretty good for my first time ever if I say so myself
