ok

hows this.

I have a '99 Lightning

in April it had 3100 miles on it.

I decided it was finally time to drive it, so now it has 13,000miles on it.

It looks better in the driveway, than it did in the garage.

(it wasn't moved from fall 99 until sping 03) Literally, it wasn't moved an Inch.

I live in Tampa also. and it rains just enough to mess up my white L! It drives me crazy, trying to keep it clean.

Plus all this super heat and humidity, just sucks all the power out of my L...

If I take the boat to the lake or make a run to Home Depot I use my other truck ........ My L is a 30K toy.... If you have multiple vehicles and you can afford a toy then it usually becomes a queen..!!
if you post :" I drive mine all the time and it has alot of miles"or " My L is a daily driver and I dont understand why you would not drive yours all the time" the most likely reason is lack of beater funds, "Money"

Or the flipside is, you have enough money that you don't care about the miles...it's only a truck and you can buy another one, two, or three of them. Not my case, but I'm sure some feel that way.

no kidding, I lost 3/10 of a sec on my 1/4 time because of it. I can break a sweat just walking too fast to my mail box.

My '00 is closing in on 40k miles now. I've tried driving other cars, beater or otherwise, and it just doesn't work out. I bought the L for ME not the next owner (if there is one!) So as long as I can afford the gas, it's my own little bit of narcissm. Why drive a lesser vehicle, when I've got my L? It's been in shopping malls, theatres, Wal-mart, etc., and other than avoiding parking by Chebbies, it's not been babied. It's taken me on several 1800 mile round trips, towed a 3200lb trailer 970 miles, hauled appliances, mulch, lumber, etc, and served as a daily driver for three years. It's never missed a beat. Those who are driving something else are missing out...

Hi Konig where in Tampa you live?

I am near the airport on the bay, behind the Causway, 60.

I've only seen one white L on the roads around Tampa!

I did live off of 56th st N and Busch blvd for a while... but now Im stuck in New Port Richey for another 4-5 months while I look for a new house. I work off Tampa rd. near Oldsmar, and Im on Bruce B. Downs/Fowler a lot because everyone I know lives out there.

I was recently down at Twiggs st. in downtown and saw a white 01-02 L...

You should come on down to the Lightning/SVT meet this friday in miami..I could use someone to caravan with. Its a huge show with much much more than SVTs

No thats not it, Mels played second fiddle to this place. Just can't remember the name of the place, it was in a strip mall on that corner.......56th and Busch.

But its still nice to know that "Mels" is still in business. I was back in Tampa during the Christmas break, and I made a trip to Skippers, to have a Grouper sandwich. It was still like I remember 20 years ago That's a geat place, use to burn more bones in that place than a Doctor see's in his entire life

My 01 has 3,600 miles on her, kept in the garage and only driven on nice rainless days. Drive the 95 Cobra or the wifes 03 Explorer the rest of the time.
