Edelbrock IAS Shocks... Any Good?
hey guys i'm changing my front springs soon, and i figure i might as well change out the shocks.
i was thinking of going with the bilsteins that roush sells, since im going w/ there front coils, but they want some coin for them.
i've read nothing but good things about these edelbrocks, what do you guys think? is it a step up, down, or the same quality as the stock shocks?
and will the edelbrocks handle my 1.75 front drop that the coils will give me.

They don't make them for the Gen2 only the Gen1.
At least that was when I ckecked into it.
I just bought and installed the Doesch Tech shocks.
I'm VERY pleased with them. I have the Belltech 3/4, before with the stockers I was bottoming out in the rear often. But now, not anymore.
Hope this helps.

I had 4 of them on my 99L.
I took them off and put Bilsteins on.
They resist body roll . They let the wheels come up easy if you hit a bump.
So far, so good.
Now lay into a corner, they keep you from rolling over, until you hit a chuckhole in the middle of the turn and they open up and dump you off your line.
If you don't have chuckholes they are great. On the freeway they are great. For a twisty country mountain road, I don't like them .
IMHO

I had em on my '99. Took them off to go with the 01 spec bilsteins, which I then upgraded to QA1's. Here's my take: if you're going to spend money on shocks, spring for the extra $$ and get the QA1's. If that's too rich for you, stick with the bilsteins. The B's are a good shock and the extra money isnt worth spending until you move into adjustables. My 2c.

ok, so it looks like it's a 50/50 reply about liking them.
i would stick w/ the bilsteins in the front maybe, but the back i have the roush springs w/ a 2in shackle.... so i need a shock (such as nitro drop shock)
i really want to stay under $100 per shock if i can. cause the bilsteins are 100.

Just a thought, I may be wrong, but for you guys lowering your rear just a couple of inches, wouldn't it make a lot more sense to just get shock extenders and keep your stock shocks?

We need shorter shocks, not longer shocks.
