gapping plugs

I'll be installing a set of IT 22's soon and was wondering how to get them gapped right. I've read anywhere from .38-.40, what tool do I use and where can it be bought. Since the electrode is very sensitive does anyone have some pointers.

The recomended gap for your 22s is .042......I like to go to .040 on mine....my last 3 sets came in pregapped perfectly, but I still check them....if you are going to regap them I wouldnt do it with a conventional gapper ...I use the Jacobs Electronics gapper, which is in the link below..... http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...53&prmenbr=361

Do you think it would be a problem if I run them with a #4 pulley until I install the #6 later this week?

plug gap

with a 6lb pulley plug gap is very important, .042 is to much of a gap for a 6lb pulley, you run the risk of getting a top end miss, your gap should be around .035 to .038, and you should be ok. to verify this you could always call tuner, PSP or JDM.

Does anyone know if I can get a good set of gapping plier from a local autoparts store?

The only thing they got is the roto-gappers....
